INDOOR PLANTS ARE PERFECT PLANTS TO HAVE IN A DESERT
Living in Albuquerque can sometimes be as dry as the desert. To make your house feel like a home, with great air to breathe, I am suggesting you invest in house plants that are nearly impossible to kill.
Before you get excited, I have to share with you ways to take care of these plants. They are indeed hard to kill, but if you don’t take care of them, they’ll die anyway.
- Do not overwater. Underwater instead. Why? Overwatering can rot the plants.
- Make sure your pots have drainage holes. This goes with #1, if there’s too much water, they’ll rot.
- Remove dead flowers and/or buds, so new ones can grow.
Here are some of my favorite low maintenance house plants and why you should get dressed, get in your car, fasten your seat belt, and drive to Lowes or Home Depot where there are endless amounts of plants to choose from.
Perfect for sunny New Mexico! Very easy to take care of and it also acts as a soothing gel for cuts and burns.
If you are not much for the desert feel, this is by far the best way to bring in the tropical feels. Palms enjoy low light and can grow up to 6 ft or more. Don’t overwater.
Amazing plant to those who are lazy when it comes to watering. This succulent plant LOVES being ignored. Water every two weeks.
This plant is an absolute game changer, especially in the shower! Pothos are fast growing plants and enjoys low light!
Lastly, the good ‘ole cactus. What else can I say? It loves the dryness of the desert.
Having plants in the home will help make your living space more vibrant and will help make the air more refreshing.
